A FireRed team and a Scarlet team face different gyms, different type charts and different Pokémon. Pick your game above, or start from a team we already worked out.

How to read your result
Red cells are shared weaknesses: a type that threatens two or more of your Pokémon with too little resistance behind it. Fix those first.
Coverage gaps are types none of your Pokémon’s own types hit super effectively. A gap is not fatal, but you will need a different move to answer those types.
Suggested picks are fully evolved, non-legendary Pokémon available in your chosen game, ranked by how much they improve the whole team, not by raw stats.
Questions
How does the Pokémon team builder work?
Pick up to six Pokémon. The tool multiplies each attacking type against each Pokémon’s typing using the type chart for the game you choose, then totals how many of your Pokémon are weak, resistant or immune to each of the types. It also checks which types your Pokémon’s own types hit super effectively.
What is a shared weakness?
A shared weakness is a type that hits two or more of your Pokémon super effectively without enough resistances on the team to balance it. It is the most common reason a balanced-looking team loses to one strong opponent.
Does it change for older games?
Yes. Choose a game and the chart follows it. Fairy does not exist before generation 6, Steel resisted Ghost and Dark until generation 6, and Pokémon like Clefairy and Magnemite had different types. The builder uses the typing from that generation.
Can I share my team?
Your team is saved in the page address. Copy the link and anyone who opens it sees the same team and game.
Is this an official Pokémon site?
No. It is an unofficial fan tool, and it does not use official artwork.
